Any Day (Adoption Journal #24)

It's been awhile since we wrote so we thought we would update you all. As of last week our paperwork for both our foster license and our adoption home study are officially completed. It has been a long time (especially when your adoption worker neglects to tell you that she'll be out of the country for over a month in the midst of your homestudy and that your case has not been assigned to a temporary worker to aid in the completion), but things are winding down. Right now a file describing our family and home is sitting on the desk of one or more "matchers" who have the responsibility of finding a suitable home when a child becomes available. This also means that any day we could get a call telling us that a child is ready for us to meet. A day or so after the call we'll meet our child and make a decision of yes or no regarding placement. If the answer is yes then we will have our son or daughter in our home in a matter of days. We'll keep you posted but it looks like things are coming to full circle and we couldn't be more excited.
